Finding Light in Friendship and Resilience

Today started as one of those tough days. I had an exam in class and made a mistake in an easy question. It hurt because I had prepared well, but this wasn’t the first time—I hadn’t scored well in the last test either. Feeling down and disappointed, I let my thoughts spiral into regret over what I couldn’t change.

After coming back from college, still dwelling on my mistakes, something unexpected happened—my two best friends from school called me after months. We ended up talking for an hour, and honestly, there couldn’t have been a better time for that call. Their timing was perfect, almost as if life knew I needed a reminder of what truly matters.

Talking to them was like a breath of fresh air. These are friends I’ve known for years, through three different colleges, Bachelor’s and Master’s, and yet our bond remains as strong as ever. They’re the ones I can share everything with, even things I can’t share with my family.

That conversation gave me perspective. I decided to stop worrying about what’s beyond my control and instead focus on what I can change. Sometimes, all it takes is reconnecting with the people who love and support you unconditionally to see how beautiful life really is.

So, whenever you’re feeling low, reach out to your friends. They remind you that life is bigger than temporary setbacks. These challenges that feel overwhelming now are small in the grand scheme of things.

Here’s my advice: trust the process. Work hard toward your goals, and let life connect the dots in its own time. Give failure the same weight as success—it’s all part of the journey. With this mindset, life becomes not just easier but infinitely more fulfilling.

Failures are just stepping stones, friends are the anchors that keep you steady. And together, they teach us to see the beauty in the highs and the lows.
